Our Projects
Each project we undertake is designed and built specifically for the needs of the people who will be living within and using the space. One of our leading inspirations in building and home design is architect Sarah Susanka, author of the book, 'Creating the Not So Big House'. We recognize that the formal floor plans and oversized scale of recent architecture doesn't necessarily meet the needs of today's homeowner.
We believe that a house should value quality over quantity, with an emphasis on comfort and beauty, a high level of detail and a floor plan that is designed for today's informal lifestyles. But we are not limited by any design parameters, and we encourage our clients (and ourselves!) to be imaginative and creative and to constantly push the envelope. After all, you have dreams for your building project that are built on substance, quality, and vision. Shouldn't your contractor be, too?
Our Inspiration
Inspired by the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park, Barry Schram founded Lamar Valley Craftsman in 2001, and has built a reputation of quality, honesty and respect. Home to Roosevelt Lodge, this is where former president FDR found solace during his frequent visits. It is home to Buffalo Ranch, where the North American bison population was rebuilt, and it also saw the reintroduction of the Grey Wolf in 1995 after its eradication earlier in the century.
The events that have unfolded in this beautiful land helped form the philosophy with which we operate: We must be responsible stewards of the environment, promoting peace and establishing community.
